Finding Native Plants

The gardening for wildlife movement has been growing steadily for the last 50 years, and native plant nurseries are sprouting up around the country in response. Below are a few resources to find natives near you.

When selecting native plants, consider the specific conditions of your garden (e.g., sun exposure, soil type, moisture, etc.) and the needs of the wildlife you wish to attract. Following the “right plant, right place” motto will make your gardening journey a lot easier. Plants that are grown in the right conditions are healthier, more resilient, and require less care. Your local native plant nurseries, conservation districts, and native plant societies can provide additional guidance and information on suitable native plants for your area.
